Primate safety!

An orangutan named Bam has been hired by the government in Thailand to promote road safety to children. The 8-year-old primate apparently loves to cycle around on his bike and now helps spread the message of accident prevention by encouraging youngsters to wear a helmet while cycling.

The campaign was launched on Friday at the Dusit Zoo in Bangkok.

Bam wore a bright ‘banana’ yellow T-shirt and pleased the crowd by riding a blue bike, however there was no mention of hand signals being given as the rider may have had a habit of  ‘swinging out’ into the road!
