Voluntary Sector: Earthwatch Bolsters CSR

Environmental research NGO Earthwatch has boosted its comms function with two new staff members to work on an employee CSR scheme.

Ian Oliver joins the organisation as strategic comms manager for Earthwatch’s partnership with HSBC, an employee engagement programme focused on climate change that will see 2,200 HSBC employees participating in scientific research on the world’s forests.

Oliver was formerly external comms manager at construction materials distributor Wolseley.

In addition, Tania Gobena, formerly a comms adviser at AccountAbility, has been appointed PR and comms officer for the partnership.

James Campbell, who heads Earthwatch’s global HSBC programme, said: ‘Our programme with HSBC is producing great results, and it is important we communicate this to our key audiences. These appointments will enable us to focus on this most important area of Earthwatch’s mission.’
